Palm Nut Machines for Queen’s Village

Palm Nut Machines for Queen’s Village

During our visit to Togo in July 2018, Michele had the chance to meet with the women of Yeviepe and learn more about their needs and challenges. One thing that she learned was that the women were in need of machines that would help them process palm nuts for oil. This is one of the main economic activities the women do in this region. They have always had to do everything by hand because they were not able to afford the machines needed for doing it more effectively. WAKE Ministries was able to donate the machines to the Queen’s village for the women of the village to use while processing palm nuts. One machine is a mixer, one is a crusher, and the third machine is a sifter. The women of Yeviepe were so happy and surprised by the gift and these machines will be available for all people of Yeviepe to use in an effort to increase economic development in this village. Through forging relationships with the leadership of the village and by helping with economic needs to assist all people we are hoping that we will soon be able to plant a church in this village.

Once the machines were ready, they were transported from Kpalime out to Yeviepe and were presented to the whole village. Everyone from the village came as well as from neighboring villages for the presentation and celebration. The queen even hired a photographer to capture the whole celebration on video for us. They were so excited and thankful for the generous donation to their village. The chief even sent a letter thanking us for helping his village.

Speech given by Chief of Yeviepe and a copy was sent to us.
