In response to the hardships from COVID-19, WAKE Ministries has partnered with MERNA Church of Kpalime to help provide sacks of hope to families in need. Togo has closed many things in response to COVID-19. The country has limited travel and enacted a national curfew, which has impacted 85% of 8 million people who rely daily on what they can make in the informal sector to provide food for their families. The sacks of hope being provided for families will help provide food for people who don’t have any at this time and will literally save people from starving to death. Two dollars can help save one person from starvation in Togo right now and we will be working together with MERNA Church to provide these necessities for families on a weekly bases. Our goal is to impact as many families and people as possible during this time of uncertainty and struggle for so many in the country of Togo. We hope that through these sacks of hope people will experience the love of Jesus and the Kingdom of God will be expanded. The first distribution took place on Monday, May 11th and impacted more than 100 families.

Distribution Time
The first distribution of the Sacks of Hope was able to reach 113 families (about 500 people) with the necessities they need to be sustained. People from the church were reached but so were many that do not belong to the church. Even a number of Muslims came to be blessed. Others who were sick or paralyzed who could not come to the church were blessed through a delivery. Pastor Roger shared that Sacks of Hope has been a great deliverance to all the people because on the very day of distribution most of them had no food at home to eat. Praise God!
