About Us

Jeff and Michele Clark met while attending Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND and were married in 1997. They now reside in Hitchcock, South Dakota where Jeff serves as the school superintendent and Michele teaches 1st grade. They have two sons, Gabriel and Alexander. After knowing each other for more than 20 years, Jeff and Michele discovered that God had placed the continent of Africa on their hearts while attending Bible Camp in Montana as teens. This discovery led them on a journey to Togo, Africa with Gabe and Alex in the summer of 2016. That journey showed them how important the church leaders and indigenous church is in that region when it comes to truly making disciples of all nations. Without those local churches people will often slip back into their traditional religion, which often is Voodoo. They also were able to visit a number of villages seeing the poverty of that region as well as the challenges the church faces. The three main challenges they discovered included; having the funds necessary for planting churches, having enough pastors to lead the churches, and being able to construct church buildings. When they returned from Togo, Jeff and Michele felt led to start West Africa Kingdom Expansion (W.A.K.E) Ministries to partner with local churches and organizations in helping expand God’s word and kingdom throughout the region of West Africa.
